Gratitude

Unknown soldierToday, on the official Memorial Day holiday, I’d like to express my gratitude for the service that the men and women of the US Armed Forces performed, dying while they served our country.

My gratitude is not based on my support, or lack of support, of our country’s foreign policies, nor is it based on my own personal views of our military’s role in the world.  It is solely based on my recognition of the lives that were given in the line of duty, and my acknowledgement that there were friends and family who suffered and grieved when their loved ones died.

My gratitude is oblivious to race, creed (religion), color and sexual orientation.  My gratitude has no conditions attached to it, and it stretches far beyond what I can even imagine.

I am grateful, and I will remember.

Unconditional gratitude is really the best, isn’t it?
    Thank you for the mention.
